Burn The Negative 'Weigh In' With New Single and Album

‘Smash and Grab’ (released August 23^rd) is the lead single taken from Burn the Negative’s hugely anticipated second album ‘How to Weigh the Human Soul’ (out August 30^th). Having already picked up radio play from Radio1’s Kissy Sell Out, and Xfm’s Eddy Temple Morris, it’s synth driven, hook filled tones are going down a storm on these stations. The single also includes an exclusive remix, courtesy of Keith & Supabeatz and bonus material in the form of new track ‘High Definition’.

Formed in 2008 it’s been a whirlwind ride for nu-wave electro-popsters Burn The Negative. With their 2009 debut album ‘In The Atmosphere’ picking up rave reviews from the likes of The Fly, DJ and Clash as well being lauded by The Guardian as "consistently entertaining as anything the Killers have ever done". Couple this with widespread radio coverage and appearances at some of the UK’s top festivals namely Glastonbury, V Festival, Creamfields, Hop Farm, Rockness and Ibiza Rocks it’s clear that this - their follow up - will be one of the most eagerly anticipated releases of the year.

With new member Paolo Di Liberto taking over synth and programming duties a new lease of life has been breathed into the band. There is a definite step-up in terms of production, song writing and maturity. They have developed their own recognizable sound and it’s a very honest album which is extremely refreshing. Lead single ‘Smash And Grab’ with its driven guitars, acerbic beat and anthemic chorus is a perfect summer track which will surely be a favourite with the festival crowd. Other stand-out tracks are ‘Bleeding Out’ with its phenomenal guitar riff and driving bass line, ‘She Sits In The Corner’ with its darkly beautiful vocal hook as well as ‘You Are Hollywood’ and ‘Simple Soul’.
